HUNTER project start date announced

16.02.2016

The company is pleased to announce the success in the recent Innovate UK competition for Technology Inspired Innovation for Advanced Materials. The company is partnered with MTC in Coventry, to work on state of the art thermoelectric materials. The activity looks at taking commercial bismuth telluride and improving this modestly for speed of commercialisation and towards climate control and compact cooling systems for localised applications, in areas such as direct-contact cooling, and micro-climates in electric vehicles. The company will target novel consolidation routes and specifically on electron filtering and band gap engineering to tune the materials.

This project links very well to the system level work the company is undertaking in the EU project JOSPEL, providing the opportunity to exploit material improvements at system components. The knowledge and capacity gained with improving this material will be translated as quickly as possible into commercial devices and systems.
