DUET Automotive Emissions Research Project Update Q2
09.01.2018
The commissioning of a new Heavy Duty (HD) multi-cylinder test cell at the University of Nottingham continues on schedule and the Light duty (LD) multi-cylinder engine shakedown has been completed. Diesel engine mapping baselining is underway in parallel to the dual fuel setup. Catalyst development work is ongoing and focusing on a sulphur tolerant catalyst but if not possible then a separate sulphur trap will be used. An initial system specification has been created and concept work in terms of the thermoelectric generator (TEG) is approaching completion in terms of the heat exchanger, module array and power electronics aspects. N-type thermoelectric materials development work has started.
